My only other wish really is that it would be great to be able to print a larger format, like the 13"x19" on their i圆520 or Pro lines. I don't scan too often, so I'm not as concerned here, though.

Luckily, the extra large XL ink cartridges supposed to make it fairly affordable on a cost per print basis.Ī document feeder to scan multiple pages would be convenient, too. My cons would be how it can go ink fairly fast if you're printing a lot of 8.5x11" photo prints like I was doing.

I do like having the versatility of a scanner and copier, too. The printer can be slow to start, but I keep it on all the time since I can then print from Google cloud when needed. The best quality paper that I currently have is the 8.5x11" Ilford Galerie Smooth Pearl and I can't believe how well it prints on it. That grey ink needs to be on more Canon printers. The colors are vibrant and correct, and the tonality especially in the darker areas are well-rendered. I just bought the Canon MG6320 and the print quality is ridiculously good, especially if you do black and white. Hope this helps in your hunt for a new printer.

Ink costs were my main concern with Epson. They have several AiO models worth looking at.

Note that the printer software does "shrink" the size of the print to allow room for maybe a quarter inch margin on all sides on each page.Īlternatives? Give Epson a look. I have not had any problems with the paper feed for letter size photo paper (and I use both HP and Red River papers) in spite of the paper path the HP uses (from the paper tray to the output tray.) The photo size paper tray works well although I noticed that I need to make sure the paper in the photo paper tray is pushed in all the way towards the front of the tray before I hit the print key otherwise, I get an "out of paper" notice (easily fixed.)ĭuplex (double sided) printing is a neat function and if you're printing out more than a few pages of a document, it works well. And don't forget, you'll need extra ink cartridges fairly quickly once the setup cartridges that came with the printer run dry! I suck it up and buy the quantity packages (HP) at Costco.

I have not tired the fax capability as I have a full size office fax in the basement if needed. You can tell they're scans when compared to the original but then I've not played around with the scan settings that much to fine tune the scan function. I'm not big into scanning photos but the few photos I've done are OK. Scan quality, as far as I can tell, is acceptable. I currently have my HP AiO printer hooked up via my wireless router and all seems fine. I don't use it very often but it does work and I can select double sided prints/color or B&W/selected pages if needed. The HP mobile application works very well from my iPad.

The reason for the less than stellar rating for photos is that I found them to be initially a bit on the dark side compared with prints from my other HP printer but this was quickly adjusted for in my print routine (I have a PC and use Q Image.) The photo print quality is perfectly acceptable for my purposes - framed 4圆s or 5x7s around the house and "scrapbook" pages (8.5x11) (via Q Image) for the picture binder. I would rate general printing (letters, etc) as excellent and photos as very good to excellent. The reasons I bought the 7525 were price and general overall quality of print, both general purpose printing (letters, spreadsheets, checks, etc) and photos. My cost "back then" was $145 and you can find the HP 7520 on sale today (~$150) at a number of locations, including the HP and Walmart internet stores. The 7525 is the Costco version of the HP 7520 AiO. I have an HP Photosmart 7525 All-in-One which I purchased 4 months ago when my old HP printer (only) died.
